Why You Can’t Trust Anything You See on the News (or on any screen anywhere!)
While this video creates the impression that this technology is new, intelligence and Hollywood have been using technology far-advanced to this for many years; possibly decades.
This is what a small team of computer scientists came up with – using facial capture and facial reenactment software, students in college are able to, in real-time, create facial expressions and even insert audio, to make you believe that people like world leaders are doing and saying things that are not happening - so imagine what’s available for use by the CIA, NSA, MOSSAD (etc.), and all of their mainstream media propaganda arms.
See this article, When Seeing and Hearing Isn’t Believing, from 1999 (nearly 20 years ago!), which details technology which can, in near real time, clone speech patterns and develop an accurate facsimile. All by taking just a 10-minute digital recording of someone’s voice.

putting this in the category of cool things that may get us all killed, right next to androids and smart houses.
Terrifying
Honest Posters of Our Relationship with Technology
Designer Ajit Johnson, living in England, has imagined a series of posters called “#This_Generation”. With honesty, the posters show anecdotes linked to our daily relationship with technology and social networks.

“Can’t work a computer to it’s full potential or send an email, proceeds to ask someone a 1/3 to ½ their age for help.” #LastGeneration
“Can’t accept the fact that meaningful relationships can be made online, struggles to respect and accept said relationships.” #LastGeneration
“Has drained and abused the Earth for it’s resources, and believes that a young person would choose internet over survival. Expects us to survive and solve the problems they have created.“ #LastGeneration
“Does not understand that phones are meant for communication, also does not understand that the average semester lasts 4 months.” #LastGeneration
“Refuses to give proper sex education, shames the younger generation for not knowing.” #Last Generation
“Does not understand how social media works and that not deleting/avoiding your recent ex online is just as bad as seeing them every day.” #LastGeneration
“Also texts and drives, pretends that they are not responsible for any accidents caused by their idiot mistakes.” #LastGeneration
“Shames teenagers for taking photos of themselves that make them feel positive about their physical image, probably can’t work the camera themselves.]” #LastGeneation
“Believes that a person’s way of texting with people they are comfortable with is a sign of their intelligence level, texts just as bad, if not worse.” #LastGeneration
“Believes our generation are internet druggies, does not even acknowledge our reasons for being online, or what we do online.” #LastGeneration
“Has caused wars, economic failures, environmental disasters, perpetuated hate based on gender/race/sexuality/religion [or lack of]/and more, pretends that the younger generation is the problem.” #LastGeneration
Whoop there it is
I don’t know why old people still blame us for being who we are. Our generation was raised by the previous one so.. you should blame yourself for being a shit ass parent who couldn’t handle their children. So you are the one who failed and thanks god because I don’t want to be as close minded as you are.
p.s. no sane person types Lik3 diS AnYm0r3 0_o get your shit together, it’s not 2003.
with the technology in iphones and the fact they use cheap sweatshop labor there’s at least a 200% profit on those things.
you could build a high end computer for less money than an iphone. it’s ridiculous. smart phones are extremely good things but they really are price gouging
Now it doesn’t have s monitor but yeah for the price of the new iPhone and 2 years insurance you can get a gaming pc with a half decent monitor and an SSD

I had a dream last night that Asriel and Toriel got a computer but were complete dumbasses about technology
Duncan Jones’ cyberpunk movie ‘Mute’ hitting Netflix next month. ALL THE CYBERPUNK IN FEBRUARY, NETFLIX
Netflix’s big beefy cyberpunk testicles are fucking swanging next month, friends. Not only are they debuting their Altered Carbon adaptation, but Duncan Jones’ own cyberpunk movie is dropping as well. I’m all about this, dudes.
it’s not real cyberpunk unless a gritty white dude buys street noodles from a racist caricature
the best thing is that snatcher has this too but for whatever reason the American voice actors decided that the street vendor selling noodles in cyberpunk japan would sound stereotypically jewish???
violent bigots pissed at gay clefairy, more at 11
this is not a cyberpunk future i predicted
Generally I agree with the sentiment that we’re living in the worst possible iteration of a cyberpunk dystopia but honestly, pokemon fans using augmented reality to AR-tag a notoriously homophobic hate group’s building by having it controlled by a pink fairy videogame monster called “loveislove” that’s only visible to other people playing the same AR game is some Shadowrun shit and I love it. I hope loveislove makes their jigglypuff eat shit
is… is this supposed to be the plot? “universal basic income is bad”?
what?
its not even “people struggle to find work” its “people dont need to work anymore and can spend their time as they choose” like that’s the polar opposite of a problem
how do you miss the point of cyberpunk that bad
cyberpunk has gradually become so style over substance theres now going to literally be a cyberpunk game that goes completely against the ideals of the genre, amazinng
the creator: [writes this] hmm, is this game about ableism and disability in a future with technology beyond its empathy? no, let’s go with “universal income is bad”
OKAY, ALL OF THAT GAME BLURB IS FUCKING GARBAGE BY A DRIVELLING DOUCHEBAG, BUT I WANT TO ZERO IN ON ONE PARTICULAR THING:
“PEOPLE DEFINE THEMSELVES BY WHAT THEY CONSUME, NOT BY WHAT THEY CREATE”.
THE GUY IN CHARGE OF THIS THING WAS, AS OF 2014, AN OUTSPOKEN GATER, AND DOESN’T SEEM TO HAVE WALKED BACK ANY OF THE TOXIC SENTIMENTS AND FRANK DICKISHNESS THAT IMPLIES.
YOU MAY RECALL THAT GAMERGATE, WHEN IT COULD BE NAILED DOWN TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN A CLOUD OF FEEL-GOOD PLATITUDES ABOUT ETHICS IN GAMES JOURNALISM, HOME ADDRESSES OF FEMALE INDIE DEVELOPERS, AND VIRULENT SEXISM AND TRANSPHOBIA, PURPORTED TO BE ABOUT DEFENDING THE GAMER IDENTITY.
THE GAMER IDENTITY, AS GAMERGATE DEFINED IT, WAS INTRINSICALLY UNCREATIVE. IT WAS AN EXERCISE IN ABSORBING CONTENT, NOT ONLY WITHOUT CREATING NEW CONTENT INSPIRED BY OR IN REACTION TO IT BEYOND THE OCCASIONAL BIT OF PORNOGRAPHIC FANART, BUT WITHOUT EVEN THE SLIGHTEST TRACE OF CRITICAL THOUGHT THAT MIGHT IN THEORY LEAD TO CREATIVITY. IT WAS ABOUT A COMPLETELY VACUOUS APPROACH TO AN ENTIRE MEDIUM, AND CONSISTENTLY ATTEMPTED TO PREVENT TWO THINGS:
- ANALYSIS OF THE MEDIUM ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN A VERY SUPERFICIAL LEVEL. THIS WAS BEHIND, FOR EXAMPLE, THEIR APPROACH TO THE QUESTION IF GAMES COULD BE ART - THEY DEFINED ART AS “A THING YOU PUT ON A PEDESTAL AND DON’T QUESTION” RATHER THAN “A THING THAT MAKES YOU THINK” - AND THE “OBJECTIVE REVIEWS” CRAP.
- EXPANSION OF THE MEDIUM TO INCLUDE ANYTHING NEW OR ORIGINAL. THIS WAS MOST NOTABLE IN THE CASE OF LGBTQIA+ CREATORS, BUT THEY WERE ALSO VERY VOCAL ABOUT NOVEL USES OF THE MEDIUM ITSELF - PARTICULARLY ENVIRONMENTAL NARRATIVE GAMES.
IF ANY GROUP WAS ABOUT DEFINING YOURSELF BY WHAT YOU CONSUME, RATHER THAN WHAT YOU CREATE, IT WAS GAMERGATE.
JUST THINK: IF YOU MILLENNIALS STOPPED BUYING AVOCADO TOAST YOU, TOO, COULD AFFORD A SET OF IRONY BLINDERS THIS IMMENSE!
- Cyberpunk, as a genre: a commentary on the relationship between corporations and government in capitalist society, particularly in regards to corruption, oppression, control of media, manipulation of public opinion through propaganda, etc
- Some chungus white boy: hell yea dude, fight the system. check out my cyberpunk game where the sjws have taken over and ruined society by paying everyone enough money to afford to survive
